Brek Lancaster’s Letter to the Fans…

Posted by Brek on Jun 10, 2013

Hello KD Nation…

I just wanted to take a minute to let all of our great fans and friends know that I will be saying goodbye at the end of June and stepping down as lead guitarist for The Killdares.  It has been an absolute amazing 9-year journey with the band, but I have decided to turn the corner in my musical trek so that I can be closer to my family at home.  Believe me, this was not an easy decision to make.

But don’t worry!  The KDs have a great new player coming on board that all of you are really going to enjoy! So make sure you continue to come out to all the shows…and show your support for this great band!  Tim, Roberta, Matt and Gary mean the world to me, as well as the countless number of crew behind the scenes at KD HQ that have worked so hard to help make the shows happen for us all.  Without their love and support, I would not be where I am today.

My desire is for nothing less than the greatest success for The Killdares. We’ve had some awesome times together travelling around this great country of ours from state to state.  We’ve had creative times, play times, relaxing times and over-the-top “hit the stage running” times!  And there’s a special kind of friendship that comes from sharing all that time together…like…spending 26 hours in a van to get to that next show on time.  And I can honestly say…I wouldn’t change a thing about the experience. I will forever cherish these amazing memories.

I do want to say a special thank you to my family! You have gone over, above and beyond in supporting me, encouraging me and loving me throughout the years.  From crazy rehearsal schedules, road-trips, long days and late nights, to missed family reunions and birthdays, weddings and baptisms, block parties and bar-b-ques…not to mention a lot of cold dinners and fast food.  Your patience is amazing!

But, it’s YOU the FANS that I appreciate more than you will ever know.  I’ve had the opportunity to meet many of you over the years both locally in the Dallas area, as well as on the road.  Every one of you has blessed me to no end with your friendship, fanship and faithfulness! You have shown me the utmost support and confidence in our music and performances.  As I may have impacted your lives with music and entertainment…YOU have definitely impacted my heart.

And it is from the bottom of my heart that I say THANK YOU for 9 wonderful years!  I wish each one of you health and happiness, and look forward to seeing you again very soon!  Keep on rockin’…

God bless you all!
