Brek Lancaster goes to 11 with Mesa Boogie endorsement deal

Posted by The Killdares on Aug 18, 2009

Today we are proud to announce that our own lead guitar player Brek Lancaster has become an official endorser of MESA BOOGIE guitar amps.

Brek began playing Mesa Boogie amps 20 years ago in 1989 when he purchased the Mark III Head with a Boogie 4×12 Cabinet at the Brook Mays Pro Shop in Dallas, TX. And in 2008 he started playing the Mesa Boogie 2:90 Stereo Power Amp along with the Mesa Boogie Triaxis Preamp. He is proud to say that he still runs that original 1989 4X12 half-opened back cabinet with his current rig today!

When asked why he likes Mesa Boogie, Brek said: “I have liked Boogie for a very long time, even before I made my first Boogie purchase. Probably the single most reason I play Boogie is for it’s powerful tone. It has an amazing versatility, especially in the Triaxis, from the Highs, Mids, Lows and Gains to the Presence and the Dynamic Voice. Such a broad landscape really helps me define my sound in a band like The Killdares, where variety and tonal sensibilities are key.”

He goes on to say that “the amps are very durable and rugged as well. Mesa Boogie has been around for about 40 years and reputation alone has brought them to the top of the guitar amplifier world.”

Brek is humbled to be part of the Mesa Boogie family and joins a list of renown artists that play and endorse Mesa Boogie including John Petrucci (Dream Theater), Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Carlos Santana, Andy Timmons, Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Kevin Eubanks of the Tonight Show and on and on.

Congratulations Brek!

My son, Micah Creel, has played the Mesas. He has a couple of Bad Cats and a Marshall now. They’re all good. Congrats.Saw several of your shows at multiple State Fair visits this season. You thanked God and your wife first in the liner notes. Good boy.

Just read your bio, Brek. Micah has been touring with Black Rebel a couple of years, bass and drum tech and plays keyboards when needed. They opened for Stone Temple Pilots last year and Micah became good friends with Dean DeLeo. Dean had him play ‘Sex Type Thing’ in Reno while Dean ran out in the audience to listen.
