ST. PATRICK’S WEEK 2008 – 5 Chances To Get Lucky!
Posted by The Killdares on Mar 5, 2008
St. Patrick’s Day never ceases to amaze all of us here at Killdares headquarters. Every year, the holiday seeks to outdo itself…with one-day celebrations turning into weekend-long throw-downs. And this year is no exception. Good for the band…and great for all you KD fans! With all this green season hootenanny happening around, you’ll be able to catch The Killdares in action as we perform 5 times in 4 days beginning March 14th.
Get yer “Irish” up extra early this year for St. Paddy’s Day on Friday March 14th as The Killdares make their third radio appearance on the “Bo & Jim” morning show. No need to set your alarm…just tune into Lonestar 92.5FM KZPS…and the bagpipe banter will wake you up just fine. This is the first time the band will appear on the show since the station’s format changeover. Should be awesome as usual. Tune in for a live in-studio acoustic performance from the band. Showtime and interview around 8:00am.
From there, follow the band a little further north that evening for a headline appearance at Lochrann’s Irish Pub outdoor tent party. Located in Frisco, TX (across from Pizza Hut Park), Lochrann’s is DFW’s newest Irish pub. A great warm-up night for the rest of the weekend. Showtime: 8:00 – 10:00pm.
Saturday, March 15th join us at our Ft. Worth, TX stomping grounds, Central Market. This is the annual St. Paddy’s Day bash sponsored by the Forth Worth Weekly…and the KDs have been asked to headline. This is an awesome all ages venue. So bring the whole family! Showtime: 7:00pm
Don’t even think we’re done yet! With 2 shows under your belt…Make sure you follow us down to Austin, TX on Sunday March 16th for the final day of South By Southwest, and a featured St. “Practice” Day concert at Fado Irish Pub. This has become the band’s home away from home over the last year, and it’s a great place to see us up close and personal. Showtime: 9:00pm
Then it’s back home to the Big D (and we do mean Dallas!) for St. Paddy’s Day itself on Monday March 17th, as the band performs for the THIRD year in a row at the Idle Rich Irish Pub. This is an awesome street party, and is by far the most fun you can have on St. Patrick’s Day. Trust us! Come on out…start practicing your best Irish jig…and listen closely…because we will be playing selected songs from our new album, slated for release this spring/summer. Showtime: 7:00pm.
